How Well Do You Know UTPA?

Many of us cover a lot of ground during the University workday. Sadly a great many people look without seeing as they pass by an almost unlimited supply of beautiful and interesting things that share the campus. What follows is a tour of the little noticed, and often overlooked, details that surround us. Many of these subjects are lesser parts of a greater whole and they are frequently lost to the rush of getting from one building to another. Think of this exercise as a photographic scavenger hunt where you need only collect information and not items to win the prize.

The hunt consists of five pages of four photos each. At the end of each page will be links to all of the pages so you may freely jump between them. The object is to identify the subject of each photograph and then determine its location on the campus. A genuine effort was made to capture each subject in average light with as little shadow as possible so as not to obscure or alter the identity of the subject. All of the subjects are oriented exactly as you would see them if you were standing in front of them, or under them, or over them, or whatever is appropriate. None of the photos contain any objects that can provide the viewer with a scale to judge the size of the subject. To the best of my knowledge, each subject is unique. Some of them are tiny and some of them are huge. You will have to find out which is which.

Here are the few simple rules:

          1. Identify the subject of each photograph.

          2. Identify the location of each subject.

          3. Email the answers to me at: Steve Copold

          4. The first person to correctly identify all 20 subjects and their
locations wins, and I will donate $100 to the UTPA scholarship
              fund of their choice.

The image below is a sample showing the subject and location.
